*** Mommy Moments: Let's Pretend

My daughter Jenine

Last Oct. 24, Saturday, we celebrated my daughter Jenine's 16th birthday together with her close friends in our home in Paranaque. Her actual birthday is Oct. 29 but she wanted to celebrate it earlier to give way for All Saints Day.

Only three of her close friends were able to make it, 2 are her official barkadas and Grace, her Korean classmate that we wanted to meet because Jenine always tells us stories about this classmate of her.

Since Halloween is just around the corner and fast approaching, I told the girls to wear funny hats for their pictorial. I actually told them to bring funny hats for the party but only Charelle brought one. So I run sacked our cabinets and found some hats that the other girls could use. Good thing that they are all excited to wear them and they happily agreed to pose for the pictorial.

I just can't believe that my daughter is already 16 years old! It seems like it's just only yesterday she's only 6 years old..... small, chubby with eye glasses and very talkative. When I took this photo I was pretending that she's only a pretty little girl, not this beautiful young lady smiling at me.

Congratulations Rafael!

Just recently, last September 15 I think, my son Rafael was brought to RCBC Tower in Ayala Makati by their school to receive this award. They had an on-the-spot art contest entitled:" One Lasallian Family: Remembering, Proclaiming and Celebrating 50 years of Lasallian Identity and Mission" last January of this year. He won first prize for this contest and his artwork was presented to th 40th Annual Worlds School Children's Art Exhibition held by the Republic of China.

This award was given to him by the Ambassador of Taipei for his artwork, being one out of 46 thousand entries, chosen as a "Selected Certificate". Congratulations Rafael! We are so proud of you! Keep up the good work and maybe someday you'll be a very good painter or artist.

3rd Year Family Day - St. Paul College, Pasig

The fathers of some students who protrayed as the Beatles.... Paul, John, Ringo and George

Yup... right after Ryan's Confirmation Rites we attended Jen's Family Day for the whole third year level in St. Paul College, Pasig. The theme was way back when the Beatles were a hit. So all the sections in the third year level performed their different interpretation of some of the popular Beatles songs.

Jenine with her classmates

My son Rafael joined the hullahoop game

This was Jenine and her classmates' performance to the tune of "Can't Buy Me Love"

It was already late when we went home to Bulacan but it was worth it. It was nice having some family bonding time with our kids and they were really happy because we were complete.

Ryan's Confirmation Day

Last Saturday, my family attended Ryan's confirmation rites in La Salle Greenhills. It was really a bit quite an effort for my kids to wake up early that day because usually during Saturdays, we woke up late. But since that day was a very important day for my youngest son, they really made an effort to join us for the ceremony.

Ryan's chose his Tita Jenny ( youngest sister ofmy hubby) to be his godmother. But unfortunately, she cannot attend because she's still in Canada. So instead, his Tita Jade ( another sister of my hubby) proxied for his Ninang Jenny.

After the confirmation rites we had lunch at Saisaki Restaurant along Edsa. Jenine my oldest wasn't able to join us because that same day she had a practice at her school for her family day. So after eating lunch, we just changed our clothes and headed off to St. Paul to attend Jenine"s Famly Day. Whew! what a very busy day for all of us.....

Mommy Moments #3 : Time Out with Friends

mommy moments

My daughter Jenine, the third girl from the left with the peace sign, had very good and talented friends. I already posted this wacky photo of them on one of my posts here entitled "The JACOs". This is the first time that they went to Shangrila Mall with the four of them complete. So as a remembrance for finishing their sophomore year in St. Paul College, Pasig, they had their photo taken and each one of them had a copy. We let our daughter join their friends at the mall after a tiring and hectic exams week or like this instance before parting for summer vacation.

*** Fundacion Pacita

Every year we celebrate my in-law's wedding anniversary somewhere besides in Manila and Bulacan. We already explored the beautiful resorts in Palawan and some places in Mindanao. This year, we took a different route. We went to Basco Batanes this time. They say that Batanes is the storm capital of the Phils. because this is the first place the storm will hit when it enters the country. We stayed at Fundacion Pacita owned by Butch Abad and the late artist Pacita Abad.

*** Antipolo Day

It's our yearly tradition again.... visiting Antipolo Church this month of May. We usually do this every May 31st, my in-law's wedding anniversary. We went there yesterday because I think they have other important plans for their anniversary.

Then after attending the 7:00 mass, we had our breakfast at Pancake House in Katipunan Avenue in Q.C.

I like the wall treatments used here..... different movie posters framed to the wall.

*** Mommy Moments: Grandparents Bonding

mommy moments

It is really a great pleasure when you see your kids spending some precious time with their grandparents. It is our family tradition to go home to Bulacan every Friday afternoon after fetching the kids at school to spend the whole weekend with their grandparents. My kids don't call my parents or even my in-laws Lolo and Lola. They call them Daddy Nestor and Mommy Duning (my in-laws), and Mommy Emma (my Mom). Besides our usual weekly tradition we also travel at least once a year with their grandparents, sometimes abroad and sometimes just out of Manila. And the kids really enjoyed the times when they were together.

***Movie Time: Angels and Demons

My daughter Jenine and I together with her school friends watched the prequel of the movie 'Da Vinci Code', Angels and Demons starring Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon. This movie is a bit predictable, although I haven't read the book yet I knew what would happen next. We watched the movie in Edsa Shang Mall. I had a good time with my daughters' friends. It made me feel young again LOL!

***Mommy Moments #1 - Silly Moments

mommy moments

Hi there fellow Mommies! This is my first time to join this weekly meme and I'm looking forward on meeting other Mommy bloggers like me. I understand that this week's theme is all about silly moments. So here is my post. This photos were taken during our family summer vacation in Club Paradise Resort, Palawan. My kids had the silly idea to bury their youngest sibling under the sand looking like a mermaid. My BIL Omar help them do the job.

*** Friends at Last

I have mentioned before that we have a new puppy named Coco. I wasn't sure if our Coffee, my 2 year old Shih Tzu will love the idea of another dog around. He was used to being the only pet in the house. When he first saw Coco he was a bit jealous especially when I pet Coco and carry him around the house. When I tried to put Coco down so that he'll get used to the idea that Coco will be his playmate, he just ignored Coco and didn't want to play with him even Coco wanted to.

But today, it's a miracle when I saw the both of them together at last. Maybe Coffee realized that he didn't have a choice since Coco is definitely a new member of the family. I'm just so happy now that they are playing and not growling at each other.

Having a Knowledge on Hacking

I was listening to the radio the other day and heard a news about a celebrity who uploaded her nude body photos on her twitter account, then after a day or two someone has hacked into her account and took all her nude photos and uploaded in the internet. At first, I really thought that the celebrity who uploaded these photos is either sick or stupid. Who with a right mind will upload photos of her nude and naked body on her website? I mean people nowadays especially who have the skills in the IT world can easily attack your site or any site in the internet by hacking into it. Even the most innocent and family oriented sites are being hacked and being used for malicious purposes by these IT hackers.

I don't know how they do it but I already experienced this kind of hacking on my emails. My password has been hacked and I can't open my own email accounts because someone changed my password without my knowledge. So I think that having a know how on IT Security can really help us to avoid these kind of threats. There are live online courses for these kind of learning and they offer Security Fundamentals, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, Computer Forensics, Disaster Recovery and Secure Programming. Having knowledge on these categories will really be a great help for us because we will know if someone is hacking our system. Isn't it great if we can hacked them back? It will surely give them a lesson on hacking. What's more, having the knowledge on these subjects will help you secure a job on IT Security. There are big companies out there that are in need of ethical hackers that will help them secure their business. So make use of what you will learn from these subjects and be a help not a destroyer.

*** The benefits of 'Redjuice'

Have you heard about "Redjuice"? It's a fruit juice blend with herbal extracts that helps cleanse your colon and control your weight. It is also an inexpensive solution to overweight problems, hypertension, cholesterol problems, diabetes, constipation, skin disease and other health problems.

My hubby and I started drinking Redjuice just this week before bedtime. The required dosage is 2 servings (2 glasses) of 200 ml a day for 7 days. You have to follow a 7-day program in order for the body to be cleansed and be rid of different toxic from the body that causes health problems. It can also be used to lose weight easy without skipping meals. To do this, you have to do the 7-10 day redjuice cleansing. After that do this following steps:

1. Take 2 glasses of Redjuice before bedtime every other day until the 45th day.

2. DO NOT SKIP A MEAL. Eat in moderation and only when hungry. Sunbstitute the intake of food that are high in fats or carbohydrates (rice, noodles, pasta, cereals, bread, cakes, ice cream, potato, etc.) with fruits and vegetables like banana, apple, chayote, carrots, cucumber, squash, etc.

3. Take small banana or apple witha glass of water for snack should you crave for food in between meals.

4. Drink at least 10 glasses of water throughout the day. ABSTAIN FROM SOFTDRINKS.

Although the ingredients are proven to be safe, it is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women.

You would know if Redjuice is already working when you'll have 2-4 bowel movements a day . So it is advisable that you don't travel a lot for this may cause some inconvenience for you.
